Christophe Pourignaux family- Splendors of Tonkin

We arrived in Vietnam eager to discover spectacular landscapes. We left with so much more than that: unforgettable encounters, wonderful emotions, and a deep admiration for this remarkable country.

From Hanoi to the ethnic markets of Bac Ha, from the magnificent terraced rice fields of Thong Nguyen to the mountain villages of Ha Giang, every stage of the journey brought us a new discovery. Our hikes allowed us to meet local communities with great respect and simplicity, while the Dong Van Global Geopark amazed us with its breathtaking scenery.

We were also captivated by the Ban Gioc Waterfalls, the peaceful atmosphere of Ba Be Lake, the serene landscapes of Tam Coc, and our cruise through Lan Ha Bay—an unforgettable moment of tranquillity. The itinerary was perfectly balanced, combining nature, culture, authentic encounters, and time to relax.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the entire Villages Vietnam team. From the moment we arrived, we felt supported by a passionate, attentive, and always-available team. The organisation was impeccable, the accommodations were carefully selected, and our French-speaking guide enthusiastically shared the country’s history, traditions, and the daily lives of its people.

Thanks to Villages Vietnam, we discovered an authentic Vietnam, far from the usual tourist routes. We return home with precious memories, unforgettable images, and one wish above all: to come back and explore even more of this beautiful country.

Frequently Asked Questions

In general, the best time to visit Vietnam is from November to April. But you can travel all year round. The weather changes a lot from region to region, so when it rains or gets cold in one place, it can be sunny somewhere else.

Internet access is easy and affordable. Most hotels, cafés, and restaurants offer free Wi-Fi. If you want to stay connected all the time on your phone, you can buy a local SIM card. It gives you a stable connection during your trip for a very good price.
