At the Edge of the MountainsMeo Vac, at the Heart of the Meo Vac Geopark

Located in the mountainous region of Ha Giang, Meo Vac is one of the most striking territories of the Meo Vac Geopark, itself part of the Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark. Between vertiginous cliffs, legendary mountain roads, and highland cultures, Meo Vac reveals a raw and profoundly authentic Vietnam.

Discover the Meo Vac Geopark

Between Karst Cliffs and Highland Cultures

In northern Vietnam, Meo Vac stands out as one of the jewels of the Meo Vac Geopark, within the Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark. This mountainous land captivates with its spectacular karst landscapes, deep valleys, and hilltop villages.

Less visited than other destinations, Meo Vac offers a rare immersion into a preserved territory, where wild nature meets ancient cultures that are still very much alive.

Vertiginous Landscapes and Authentic Local Life

Meo Vac is defined by the sheer power of its karst scenery: abrupt limestone peaks, winding mountain roads, and narrow valleys carved into the rock. The legendary Ma Pi Leng Pass, suspended above the canyon of the Nho Que River, links Meo Vac to Dong Van and offers one of the most breathtaking panoramas in northern Vietnam.

But Meo Vac is above all a land of ethnic diversity. H’mong, Lô Lô, and other minority communities continue to uphold their traditions in remote villages. The lively and colorful Meo Vac market is a vibrant expression of local life, where brocade textiles, livestock, and regional specialties come together.

Between hiking trails, exploration of isolated hamlets, and genuine encounters, Meo Vac embodies a true off-the-beaten-path journey.

In general, the best time to visit Vietnam is from November to April. But you can travel all year round. The weather changes a lot from region to region, so when it rains or gets cold in one place, it can be sunny somewhere else.

Internet access is easy and affordable. Most hotels, cafés, and restaurants offer free Wi-Fi. If you want to stay connected all the time on your phone, you can buy a local SIM card. It gives you a stable connection during your trip for a very good price.
